Benefits of Personal Training

If you are someone who’s had a hard time sticking with a fitness program in the past and you’re thinking about trying to get back into it, here are just a few ideas that could help you be more successful this time around and why having a personal trainer might be something you could really benefit from.

First, to be successful, you have to have a clear understanding of what you’re doing. Knowing what your goals are, what exercises you should be doing to accomplish those goals and having proper form to prevent injury is key. If you’ve always gone to the gym with not much knowledge of what your doing, This is where having a personal trainer can be such an effective tool. As a personal trainer, I assess each one of my clients and come up with a program personalized to each individual’s needs. Involving flexibility, core strength, injury recovery and everything that encompasses a well-rounded program. I work to teach my clients proper form and to set them up to be able to do it on their own.

Two, I think being comfortable in your environment and exercise being something that makes you happy is what will keep you coming back. If you’ve always gone to a big gym with hundreds of people working out next to each other, it makes you uncomfortable and you haven’t enjoyed it, then maybe that big gym isn’t for you. Maybe you try going to a smaller fitness studio, or setting up some equipment at home and working out from there. Mix it up and try going to a yoga class or get into running. There are so many different ways you can get a good workout and it’s not all going to a big gym. Our facility is a small fitness studio, it has a completely different feel from a big gym and for a lot of people, that’s exactly what they need.

Lastly, I think consistency is so important! And being consistent doesn’t mean that you’re going 5, 6 days a week as hard as you can. Being consistent means that you’re just staying engaged with it, if your unable to make it to the gym one day that’s fine, but having things in place for you to do instead that will keep you moving forward is so important. Having a stretching routine or going home and cooking a healthy meal. And understanding that life happens and if you make a mistake today don’t give up because there’s tomorrow. Exercise, fitness, it not a race and there is no finish line! If you stick with anything over time you’ll get better at it and accomplish whatever goals you set out to. If you have that mindset and you keep working at it, you will really do great!

Testimonials

Gino-

“Great personal trainer! He’s easy going but pushes me hard. He goes out of his way to keep me on track with my fitness goals and genuinely cares about my health and well-being.  Evan has been a huge motivator for me to get back in shape and make my fitness and my overall health a priority. He helped me recover from a wrist surgery I had undergone years ago that didn’t heal correctly. He’s been a perfect fit for me as it is much more affordable than a physical therapist.”
